On Solid Ground Video Series 2017

Introduction

On Solid Ground is a series of 11 videos that focus on the science-based principles that underpin the development of RLF specialty crop nutrition liquid fertilisers. The science behind RLF's program of Integrated Fertiliser Management also is discussed with an easy understanding given to support its importance in today's modern fertiliser practice.

It has been called On Solid Ground for good reason, because the science of plant physiology provides the indisputable basis upon which all RLF products are developed. This is the basis for the RLF brand, and the expertise that goes into every specialised crop nutrition product manufactured.

What's in the Series

  • Video No. 1
Plant Nutrition and Why it is Vital

    Title:

Plant Nutrition and Why it is Vital

    Topic: Plant Nutrition
    Products Mentioned: Ultra Foliar range

Crop nutrition science is a continually evolving discipline, and understanding plant physiology is key to the development of optimally balanced crop nutrition products. It is well known and accepted that plant nutrition influences and increases yield and this conversation discusses this vital point.

Why You Can’t Get Maximum Yield without Crop Nutrition

    Title:

Why You Can’t Get Maximum Yield without Crop Nutrition

    Topic: Crop Nutrition Yield
    Products Mentioned: BSN Seed Primer

Increased yield, and the setting of greater yield potential can only become a reality if phosphorus is available from the very beginning of the crop's life. This conversation discusses the methods and means of giving the plant the best start to its crop
    life possible.

  • Video No. 3
The Benefits of Bigger Root Growth

    Title:

The Benefits of Bigger Root Growth

    Topic: Root Growth
    Products Mentioned: Ultra Foliar range

It is a science-based fact that robust germination and establishment will always be more beneficial for the plant. So, there is much to learn from science that teaches about the importance of optimal nutrients and optimum growth. Too much nutrient impedes, too little nutrient can also restrict. This conversation explains the importance of balance.

  • Video No. 4
The Practice of Integrated Fertisiler Management

    Title:

The Practice of Integrated Fertisiler Management

    Topic: Integrated Fertisiler Management
Products Mentioned: BSN Seed Primer and Ultra Foliar range

The science behind RLF's Integrated Fertiliser Management (IFM) program is the topic of this conversation. It is a modern farming fertiliser practice and increased yield outcomes of between 5% - 15% can be expected. It is an innovative and economical way of thinking about crop needs and optimal fertiliser balance

  • Video No. 5
    The Role of Phosphorus

    Title:

    The Role of Phosphorus

    Topic: Phosphorus
    Products Mentioned: BSN Seed Primer

The importance of phosphorus to a crop is well known. It is essential in all cropping environments. But is the science of phosphorus availability to the plant really understood, particularly in the early stages of germination and seedling establishment. This conversation discusses this issue.

  • Video No. 6
The Function of Low pH in Foliar

    Title:

The Function of Low pH in Foliar

    Topic: Low pH in Foliar
    Products Mentioned: Foliar

This is a complex and important science-based topic. The low pH between root and leaf must be carefully managed to give the crop the best chance of optimum outcomes for both leaf and root development. This conversation seeks to explain the scientific principles of low pH crop nutrition products.

  • Video No. 7
    Seed Priming or Imbibing

    Title:

    Seed Priming or Imbibing

    Topic: Seed Priming or Imbibing
Products Mentioned: BSN Superstrike and BSN Ultra

Seed priming, or imbibing is sometimes confused with seed coating. The science behind the development of RLF's signature seed priming fertiliser is therefore important to understand. This conversation explains the unique science-based characteristics of this process that routinely delivers between 5% - 15% increased yield.

  • Video No. 8
    New Technology RLF Products

    Title:

    New Technology RLF Products

    Topic: New Technology
    Products Mentioned: 2 phase Foliar

By now it is well understood that only plant physiology can determine what a plant needs and when. Establishment phase needs nitrogen and trace elements, finishing phase needs potassium and phosphorus. New generation specialty fertilisers that eliminate the need for tank mixing are about to be released. This conversation talks about these innovative new products.

  • Video No. 9
Achieving Economic Return for the Farmer

    Title:

Achieving Economic Return for the Farmer

    Topic: Economical Return and Benefit
Products Mentioned: BSN Seed Primer and Ultra Foliar range

One of the most fundamental elements of farming is economical return and benefit for the farmer. This conversation discusses many sustainability issues surrounding optimising nutrients and crop responses, economic use of the fertiliser budget and the importance of building of natural soil fertility for future crops. All mechanisms for achieving economic benefit.

  • Video No. 10
    Modern Farming Fertiliser Practice

    Title:

    Modern Farming Fertiliser Practice

    Topic: Specialty Crop Nutrition
Products Mentioned: BSN Seed Primer and Ultra Foliar range

Understanding how nutrients work in seed, leaf and root is important, so it is always helpful to let plant science guide your fertiliser choices. This conversation encourages using the principles of plant physiology to evaluate the cropping environment and to inform the choices made for modern farming fertiliser practice.

  • Video No. 11
Bringing New Products to the Market

    Title:

Bringing New Products to the Market

Topic: Products soon to be released
Products Mentioned: BSN Ultra, 2 phase Foliars, Canedip, PowerPK, Pasture Plus

Product renewal is a key goal for RLF. This conversation revolves around the latest products recently released to the marketplace and the products that are currently in the pipeline. There are some exciting and exceptional new products coming soon, all based on the science of plant physiology.
