A Fungus Found in Plant and other Grass Species

Dr Hooshang Nassery responds to the question of Endophytes raised by RLF’s New Zealand Distributor Jason Reid on behalf of his clients who want to use RLF’s product BSN.

In NZ over 80% of the pasture crop has endophyte fungus added at seed treatment time.  Dr Nassery explores the world of the endophyte functions, which act in a symbiotic way to protect the grass from insect disease, to boost pasture performance and to support animal health.  As the endophyte is vertically transmitted to the seed this means that they are well protected from any likely adverse effect of BSN application.  However, for a full appreciation of the Endophyte question please read on………….
