China celebrates its Valentine’s Day on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, and from this lunar alignment comes its
name, Qixi.
Roses, as the symbol of love, span many languages and cultures, and when you see blooms as healthy and colourful as those in this photo image, you can only imagine the depth of feelings they convey.
Rose growers love this celebratory festival and spend many months preparing for the day.
The rose has a developed root system with an extra-large demand for nutrients from the soil. And the demand for nutrients by roses is diverse. Only the balanced combination of different nutrients can make the flowers grow both high quality and high yield.
Showcasing Two RLF Rose Nutrition Programs
The following is the first of two case sharing demonstrations about the effects on roses treated with an RLF crop
nutrition program. The first location and grower details are as follows:
Demonstration Location | Longquan Village, Baofeng Town, Jinning District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province |
Demonstration Grower | Mr. Miao |
Rose Variety | French Rose |
Demonstration Area | 1.2mu (0.08 hectare) |

The Products Used and Nutrition Timing Employed
Dates | Fertiliser and Methods Used |
23rd June 2018 | Furrow injection with 5kg Dynamo High-N and 5kg Dynamo High-P |
28th June 2018 | Foliar spray with Plasma Power at 500 times dilution |
6th July 2018 | Furrow injection with 6kg Dynamo High-N and 5kg Dynamo High-K |
18th July 2018 | Furrow injection with 4kg Dynamo High-P and 6kg Dynamo High-K |

The Comparisons
Of the Leaf
Before application, some of the leaves in the rose field showed signs of nutrient deficiency. After three applications of the Dynamo series of products, most of the leaves recovered their health and showed dark green color and thicker leaves.
Of the Stem
The length, thickness and straightness of flower branches are the key factors affecting the rating of roses. Happily, the whole stem of the demonstration field is about 5-7cm longer than that of the control field.
And the RLF-treated roses had thicker and
greener leaves.

Of the Flower Bud
At the 3rd August 2018 observation day, the RLF-treated rose field showed fuller bracts, brighter colours, thicker branches and
better verticality.
The second case sharing demonstration was at the following location:
Demonstration Location | Mojiazhuang Village, Baofeng Town, Jinning District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province |
Demonstration Grower | He Pingho |
Rose Variety | Legend & Peach Avalanche+ |
The Products Used and Nutrition Timing Employed
Dates | Fertiliser and Methods Used |
23rd June 2018 | Furrow injection with 6kg Dynamo High-N and 2kg Dynamo High K |
28th June 2018 | Furrow injection with 4kg Dynamo High-N and 4kg Dynamo High-K |
6th July 2018 | Furrow injection with 3kg Dynamo High-P and 5kg Dynamo High-K |
18th July 2018 | Furrow injection with 3kg Dynamo High-P and 5kg Dynamo High-K |

The Comparisons
Of the Stem

Of the Flower Bud
During the flowering period, the grower selected rose fields of the same area from both the demonstration and Control areas to compare the wryneck situation of the flower head. The results were that the average number of flowers in the demonstration field was 7 and in the Control field it was 10. The wryneck number from the RLF-treated rose field was reduced by nearly 30%. At the same time, the flower buds were larger and the colours were more vivid.
In addition to large amounts of the key elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, the cultivation of high-quality roses also needs moderate additional trace elements. Otherwise, the leaves of the plants will present chlorosis, and even make some plant organs malform affecting the normal growth and development of the prized roses.
