‘Withstanding the Storms’ with RLF products
Fortunately, the recent heavy rainfall did not cause much damage to the Dragonfruit crop.
The southern region has recently been subjected to heavy rainfall, and over a long period of time. A number of hydrological stations in the Yangtze River and Pearl River Basins’ went well beyond warning water levels. Wherever the storm went, agricultural crops suffered heavy losses with many southern region fruit farmers suffering the double shocks of crop damage and the subsequent market downturn. The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, where the amazing Dragonfruit grows, also experienced an onslaught of heavy rainfall.
In order to check on how the application of RLF products on the Dragonfruit fared, the RLF Sales Manager for the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Fang Shixian, paid a visit on the Dragonfruit planting base in Tiandong County, Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The Surprising Result
The Dragonfruit treated with RLF products showed features of uniform fruit size, good coloring and high sugar content. At the same time; compared with the control crops; the Dragonfruit in the trial field experienced a longer retention period. Much attention was paid to the fact that the Dragonfruit that survived the storms were heavy, juicy and with plump flesh.
This was an outstanding result for the growers who took part in the RLF trial.
The following photo-board shows the development of the Dragonfruit crop.
About the Growing Region
It’s planting area reaches 160 thousand mu (10,667 hectares), which is the largest area allocated for growing Dragonfruit in China. In the most suitable planting area in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the yield per mu of dragon fruit is generally over 2.5 tonnes (2,500 kg), and the output value per mu can reach somewhere between 10,000 – 20,000 Yuan (AU$1,919-3,893).
The 3-Step Crop Nutrition Program that Saved the Day for Dragonfruit
