Into the Field with the Tech Team

Since 6th April 2020 the RLF Technology Team has been in Hebei Province. They have worked in tandem with Shijiazhuang Zhanmai Agricultural Materials, and moved around Shijiazhuang, Xinle and other places to evaluate the greenhouses and to get an understanding of the local planting situations and problems. As part of this tour they have provided technical consulting services for the local farmers and growers.

Evaluation of a Strawberry Crop

Test Location Nangaoli Village, Xingtang County,
Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province
Test Farmer Liu Lifen
Test Evaluation Date 11th April 2020
Test Nutrition Program Fertigation with RLF Plant Milk High-N
at 5kg per mu, on 21st March 2020

  • Compared with the Control crop, the leaves treated of those plants treated with RLF products were thicker and greener, and the flowers were stronger.
  • Through chlorophyll detection, the average value of chlorophyll in the Control area was 29.6, whilst the RLF-treated test area reached 33.5
  • The yield increase trend reached 11.64%.

At the on-site observation meeting, the RLF Technology Team shared and explained the
fertilisation management technology for strawberries.

Evaluation of a Ginger Crop

Test Location Xieshen Town, Xinle City, Hebei Province
Test Farmer Zhang Xinli
Test Evaluation Date 11th April 2020
Test Area 20mu

At the on-site observation meeting, the RLF Technology Team gave guidance and detailed instructions to Mr Zhang
for managing ginger fertilisation, selection of ginger species, trenching and shed film laying technologies.

Evaluation of a Muskmelon Crop

Cracked melon is a physiological disease that leads to a decline in the quality and commerciality of muskmelons – and this affects sales and prices. The causes of young fruit cracking are:

  • improper use of hormones, such as an excessive concentration and/or high temperature treatment
  • lack of trace elements such as calcium and boron in the soil
  • management measures such as water supply imbalance and the excessive temperature differences between day and night in the later stage of fruit setting.

As for the planting problems seen during the visit, the Team also gave further advice and solutions to the local growers at the Technical Exchange Meeting held later in the day.

The evening’s education and information session

RLF’s Agricultural Technology Service Activities are in Progress

Based on their professional experience, combined with the local planting situation observed and through face-to-face communication, the Team provides scientific guidance on the issues that need attention paid to in the local crop management.

This helps lay a foundation for the growers through to harvest.

Since the opening of RLF Agricultural Technology Service, it has been widely recognised as a positive and beneficial service by the majority of growers. Up to now, the activities have covered Hainan, Sichuan, Shandong, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan as well as some other places, and they have proven to provide good products, good understanding of the technologies involved and services to growers.

In the future, RLF will continue to work hard to cover more crops and more areas, so that a better understanding of crop nutrition is passed to as many farmers and growers as possible.
