The water spinach is also known as hollow vegetable or bamboo food.
It is called hollow vegetable since its stem is hollow, this being the case as well with bamboo – hence its two common names.
As a rich green human food plant the water spinach is rich in vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, niacin, protein, fats, phosphorus and iron. It is believed that it’s vitamin B1 content is 8 times greater than that contained in tomato. In addition, the water spinach has the important human health function of stimulating peristalsis, which is the involuntary muscle movements that keeps food moving through the digestive system to aid normal gut function.
The Water Spinach Conundrum
In order to cultivate good water spinach, vegetable growers have racked their brains.
They need to successfully grow water spinach with high value, good looks and delicious taste. How to do this is the question ? Some farmers decided to use RLF’s Ultra Foliar product Fruits & Veggies Plus and this proved a good choice.
General Manager RLF China, Dr Mike Lu personally paid a visit to the water spinach growers in Sanya Hainan Province on 21st November 2016, to check on the application effects for the water spinach crop.
The growers believe that excellent yield was the result, very easily reaching an increase in production by 10%.
The Excellent Results
The photo images that follow highlight how healthy this crop was, and the nutritional plan used by the growers is outlined.
The RLF Crop Nutrition Program and Method
Fruits & Veggies Plus Ultra Foliar was the RLF product used. It is a High-analysis Broad-spectrum Solution (HBS) that delivers its nutrient package when sprayed onto the leaf. It is highly concentrated and contains the optimum amount of 12 nutrients with a single application. Because of this Fruits & Veggies Plus Ultra Foliar enables the plant to guard against soil nutrient variability and any soil deficiency and gives greater plant protection, increased growth and improved yield qualities.
In addition, the plant was able to be harvested earlier, and it has significantly improved quality and great taste.
The growers asked; why then is the difference between the two fields so big?
The experts said that most crops are not short of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium at present, but it is the lack of balanced nutrients in the trace elements. Even with such leafy vegetables as the water spinach, the nitrogen absorption has already been saturated. It is therefore the deficiency in trace elements that can be adequately and exactly met by the RLF Ultra Foliar Fruits & Veggies Plus.
All the growers on the day therefore concluded that the secret to increasing both production yield and quality is by applying the RLF Ultra Foliar Fruits & Veggies Plus.
This product gives balanced crop nutrition and better crop outcomes in both an economic sense and in terms of healthy human food.
