We begin a series of 8 articles based on fertilising crops to improve human health. These have all been taken from a joint publication by the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) and the International Fertiliser Industry Association (IFA). In the first of this series the topic of Enhancing the Nutritional Quality of Food Crops with Trace Elements is explored. Good human health not only requires enough calories, but also sufficient intake of all essential nutrients. This article looks at the way fertilisers have been used traditionally, and the more recent move to managing fertilisers in such a way as to contribute to healthy lives for consumers. Read it here.
