We continue our series of 8 articles based on fertilising crops to improve human health. These have all been taken from a joint publication by the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) and the International Fertiliser Industry Association (IFA). In No.4 of the series the discussion of Plant Nutrition and Health Risks Associated with Plant Diseases is extended. Increased susceptibility to infectious disease is a common result of nutrient deficiency, with a resultant reduction of nutritional value of the food or animal feed.
