What is Fertigation
Fertigation/Furrow is the term given to the specialised range of RLF crop nutrition products developed especially for use in irrigation systems and controlled growing environments. They are all of high quality manufacture and especially useful for orchards, vineyards and vegetable crops, however a wide range of horticultural crops can be effectively supported with RLF Fertigation products.
Nutrients can be delivered to the plants by several methods, such as manual spraying, overhead watering or by in-ground irrigation systems. Direct furrow injection is also an acceptable method.
Fertigation products are engineered with RLF-technology, including products using the High-analysis Broad spectrum Solution (HBS) that ensures that a full package of 12 nutrients are delivered at optimum levels. Importantly, there are a range of tailored products for specific growth stages and for remedies of nutrient deficiency or plant need.
RLF engineers and manufactures quality products for the widest range of modern irrigation growing needs. They are world-leading products.
Options for Farmers and Growers
RLF Fertigation and Furrow Injection products give farmers and growers whose enterprises are in irrigated or controlled environments, the same advantages and opportunities that farmers in large-scale broadacre environments have. There are a wide range of products available for use in growing environments of all sizes with targeted, or specially focused advantages and outcomes.
RLF manufactures specialised Fertigation products for irrigated farming operations globally. Some of them are highlighted below, but there are other options as well.
12 Nutrient Solution for Irrigation
Fertigation Plus is a High-analysis Broad-spectrum Solution (HBS) containing 12 essential nutrients. It delivers nutrients to the plant via irrigation system or by furrow (ground) injection. It is a highly concentrated solution that contains the optimum level of three vital elements (N-P-K), plus nine other essential elements sufficient for one single, stable application.
Fertigation Plus gives the plant the ability to guard against soil nutrient variations that ensures greater plant protection, increased growth and improved yield qualities. This is a highly effective method of delivering nutrients to the plant via the root structure. The solution contains chelates, soluble carbohydrates, phosphorylated metabolites and organic compounds that are readily consumed by soil micro-organisms in order to stimulate soil biological activity and generate enhanced crop health.
Fertigation Plus is most beneficially used during the rapid phase of crop growth when phosphorus and trace elements in root rhiszosphere are not replaced fast enough to meet the crop demand. The low pH of the product mobilises calcium deposits in root channels for efficient nutrient delivery in fertigation systems. The high orthophosphate level of the product is readily absorbed by the root system, resulting in the improved quality of fruits and vegetables in particular, ensuring that high yield does not come at the expense of low quality characteristics such as thick rind and skin, or pulpy and dry produce.
Plant Milk Range for Focused Nutrition Needs
Plant Milk High-N and Plant Milk High-K are specialised Fertigation fertiliser products designed to deliver a multi-spectrum nutrient package directly to the plant via irrigation or furrow injection methods at different growth stages. They each contain a high concentration of optimally balanced vital elements (N-P-K), with a supporting suite of elements suitable for the plant’s specific needs in one single, stable solution.
These two Fertigation products ensure greater plant protection, increased growth and improved yield qualities. This is a highly effective method of delivering nutrient, either high in available nitrogen, or high in available potassium, to the plant via the root structure at the time that the crop needs it.
Dynamo Range gives High Availability of Key Elements
Dynamo High-N, Dynamo High-P and Dynamo High-K are highly specialised Fertigation fertilisers designed to deliver a multi-spectrum nutrient package directly to the plant through irrigation or furrow injection. They are engineered to contain a high concentration, optimally balanced with the vital elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, plus a supporting range of essential micro-nutrients in one
Each of these products gives greater plant protection, increased growth and improved yield qualities. This is a highly effective method of delivering nutrient to the plant via the root structure, and gives growers options for maximising opportunities for their crop type and
The Furrow Inject Process
Furrow Injection is an effective and efficient method of delivering nutrients. It injects solution in such a way to improve the availability of phosphorus and essential trace elements to germinating seeds and seedling establishment. Plasma Furrow Inject and Ground Force are two good examples of RLF products that facilitate support for this important growth phase.
Field trials have shown improved visual performance of crops treated this way, and yield increases have been demonstrated in cotton, corn, sunflower and sorghum crops. It is known that farmers often use chemicals at sowing time to treat the seed for diseases, and the addition of nutrients via irrigation or injection methods further improves the health and vigour of the emerging seedlings.
Injection improves both the supply and availability of nutrients in the rhizosphere of the seedling, especially where alkaline soils have reduced the availability of nutrients in the developing root zone.
Leading the World with a Proven Product
RLF first developed Broad-spectrum compound foliar fertilisers in 1993.
Fertigation and Furrow Injection products have been continuously updated and improved since this time with over 20 years of on-farm use. Fertigation products represent the latest in a long pedigree of innovative technological development. They are a proven product, extensively trialled and tested; but most importantly used, for more than twenty years by farmers world wide. Today the use of Fertigation/Furrow products form part of normal farm practice for millions of RLF customers. Especially beneficial for:
Leafy vegetables (i.e. broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, herbs, lettuce, kohlrabi, rhubarb, spinach, spring onion)
Fruiting vegetables (i.e. bean, capsicum, corn, cucumber, eggplant, melons, pumpkin, sweet pea, squash, tomato, zucchini)
Bulbs and root crops (i.e. beet, carrot, garlic, onion, parsnip, potato, radish, turnip, sweet potato)
Fruit trees (i.e. apple, apricot, cherry, citrus, fig, nectarines, olives, peaches, pear, persimmon, plums)
Soft fruits (i.e. strawberries and berries)
Young trees or Non-bearing fruit trees
Easy to Use
Fertigation and Furrow Injection products are in high quality solution, are easy to mix, and quick to disperse. They are friendly on irrigation equipment and do not present any blockage issues. Farmers and growers can safely use these products year after year as part of their normal farm practices.
